EasySite® for Rhino (ESR)  Now you can download a demonstration to give it a test drive!

The Rhino graphics engine lends itself particularly well to modeling surfaces.  The user interface is easy to move around in and the new C++ library lets you build roads and other features at 4+ times the speed.   For a full list of features - review the PDF EasySite Rhino feature list.

Mini Tutorials help walk you through the basic features of EasySite.  See what we can help you do!

Pick up a copy of the demonstration version.  If you like what you see, download the full version.  Pricing at just $495.

image02.bmp (71302 bytes) There are many ways to develop a representative surface that can be modeled. The surface must resemble, as much as possible, the actual land area that is to be developed. The original data may be; a written or ASCII list of survey points, a drawing of a set of contours (paper or digital), an electronic file in DEM or SDST format, or a combination of any of these. In almost every case, except the digital electronic files, you must convert the data to actual points in Rhino, add any additional modifiers and apply a routine based on a Delauney algorithm to generate your surface of triangular 3d faces. Generally the points provided by a professional surveyor need only be tinned using Points to Mesh without additional work.

The road is the foundation of EasySite. All modeling begins and usually ends with a road of some kind. EasySite will model a road complete with any desirable feature, a shoulder, curbs, ditches, sidewalks, etc. By taking the defaults, the road will be modeled with an approximate balance of cut and fill. A road starts as a Path, a planar polyline drawn with offset lines showing the width of the pavement and drawn with your choice of curve generation. Making a road requires only a path and a template. The template may have as many polylines, all connected, as the user requires. The pavement polylines will be scaled to the width of the path. All other features will be modeled (Extruded) as drawn.
